Top Tourist Attractions in Munnar

Munnar is popular tourist destination in Kerala and is located at the convergence
of three rivers. As you reach Munnar you feel a sense of wonder as you look at the valleys filled with tea plantations. It is the perfect place you want to be on your holidays as it also has a very soothing climate.
 This hill station is filled with lush forests, beautiful waterfalls and huge tea plantations. Many recreational activities can be carried out here by the tourists such as trekking, and mountain biking. There are many places in this hill station where you can enjoy the beauty of nature .Here are some interesting places you can visit while you are in Munnar.

Eravikulum National Park:
 This park is a well known tourist destination in Munnar and is a place where you can go for a trekking. This park is home to many varieties of animals and plants. One endangered species –the Nilgiri Tahr is also found here .The most fascinating feature of this park is when the Neelakurinji flower blooms and covers the valleys making it look entirely blue.


Mattupetty:
It is a wonderful place at a height of 1700 m above sea level and 13 km away from Munnar. This place is known for its beautiful lake and a wonderful dam. Here you can go for relaxing boat rides which can relax your mind that is filled with the big questions in life. Mattupetty is a place where you can get a breath of really fresh air because it’s are valleys covered by tea plantations and mystical forests.

Chinnakanal:
  Chinnakanal is a village in Kerala which can give you beautiful real life pictures continuously. It is located near Munnar and you can view the Western Ghats in its glory from this place. Blessed by numerous waterfalls this place is often visited by tourists. The water falls of this place have also been used in Hydro projects.

Tata Tea Museum:
This place is a very popular attraction for tourists who are curious about tea. It is located at a small distance of 2 km from Munnar .To expose the growth and the variety of tea grown in the valleys of Kerala a museum was set up by Tata Tea. This museum show cases the machineries used in the tea factories and also photos of the tea grown.

Top Station:
At a height of 1700 m above sea level this place is the highest point on the road from Munnar to Kodaikanal. This is a popular tourist destination as people gaze over to see a multitude of beautiful valleys and also to view the bordering state of Tamil Nadu .This is the place you want to be in when the Neelakurinji flowers bloom.

Echo Point:

Located at a distance of 15 km away from Munnar, this is one of those places that could make your honeymoon more magical. There is a clear and a natural echo that you can hear when you shout from here that makes tourists gather here every year. Besides the natural echoes that you can hear, this place has superb views of green forests and misty mountains.
