Among the many hidden place, Ananthapura Lake Temple is one
which is located in Kasargod district of Kerala, some 6 kms from Kumbala. It is
the only lake temple in Kerala and the main god praised in this temple is God
Anantha Padmanabha. The main attraction of the temple is crocodile named
Babiya, which is
said to be 150 years old. After finish visiting this famous
temple, don’t miss to visit Kappil beach which is close to the temple as well
as to the famous Bekal Fort. Kappil beach is fast becoming a major tourist
attraction as it secluded coastline and idyllic location has been a hotspot as
here visitors get to enjoy ample time to spend away from the hustle and bustle
of city life.
One must have heard about Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, located
parallel to the National Highway 66. It is the largest drive-in-beach in Asia
and it is one place that you should not miss to pay visit.
Including that, if you are in Kannur visit to the famous 5
acre Dharmadom Island which is beautifully surrounded by Anjarakandy River from
three sides and Arabian Sea on the fourth side. The island is also considered

dam which generates one third of the state’s electricity. The dam is really
beautiful and it is one of its kinds in Asia, which tourist can enjoy only
during the Onam and Christmas season, when the dam is open for public for 10
days. Apart from that one can also visit to the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary,
Idukki reservoirs and one can also enjoy boating here.
Apart from all these, Chithari beach is also a hidden attraction whose beauty is over-shadowed by the historical importance of Bekal Fort and the beach. The island is accessible only by boat or the local canoes, where tourist visit to enjoy peaceful time amid the nature blessed Chithari beach.
